Announcement of New Transitional Pastor, November 2021

Rev. Dr. Tracy Hartman, Transitional Pastor

The Board of Deacons is pleased to announce the hiring of the Rev. Dr. Tracy Hartman as our Transitional Pastor.

Rev. Dr. Hartman received her Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary, Presbyterian School of Christian Education and her Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia.  Additionally, she obtained Executive Coach Training from the Center for Congregational Health, Foundations for Christian Leadership Certificate from Duke University, and STEP Interim Ministry Training from The Center for Healthy Churches.

Tracy enjoys knitting, crocheting, quilting, and hiking and camping with husband of 40 years, Jay. They reside in Richmond and have three sons and one granddaughter.

She will serve Suffolk Christian Church by preaching on Sundays; providing pastoral care; leading congregational town hall meetings to help the congregation with visioning & asset mapping; working with SCC leaders to align mission, building use, budgeting and programming; and by coaching the Pastor Search Committee to expedite the search process and assure candidates meet the needs of Suffolk Christian Church.

Dr. Hartman will begin November 28, 2021, and will lead us through Advent.  As the New Year begins, we will start the process of holding Town Hall Meetings with the congregation and developing our church profile.  Through this process, we pray for God’s guidance as we move into the next phase of Suffolk Christian Church.

Members of the Board of Deacons or the Transition Team will be happy to answer any questions that you may have during this transition.
