APRIL 2021

My Dear Friends,

Easter is just around the corner! The quiet and thoughtful days of Lent are almost accomplished and we are more than eager and ready to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

This Sunday is, of course, Palm Sunday. We will have palm branches for everyone and we will “virtually” join those who lined the road into Jerusalem on that festive day, welcoming Jesus. The festivities, unfortunately, did not last, as Jesus had much to accomplish before his arrest, trial, and crucifixion.

On Thursday, we will once again hear from Jesus’ disciples as they ask the fateful question “Is it I?” We call this service “Maundy Thursday”. “Maundy” is taken from the Latin word “mandatum”, which means “mandate” or “command”. At the Last Supper, Jesus said, “A new commandment [“mandatum”] I give unto you, that you love one another.” Please join us as you are able.

Once again I want to thank our Covid Task Force for all their thoughtful and careful work in keeping us healthy and safe. We have followed the guidelines of the CDC and everyone has been great in cooperating. Thank you!

On Easter Sunday, we will resume our Early Service, at 8:45 am, in the Fellowship Hall. Also, we will receive new members at both services on Easter.

God bless you!

Love,

Michael
