My Dear Friends,

As I write this it is Monday morning of the week we are able to open our church building for worship! Our task force has been diligent about making things as safe as possible. As you know from the guidelines you received last week, we will do our best to follow “best practices”. It will be a joyous occasion to come together, but at the same time a bit sad that we will not be able to be “normal” . . . but, then, are Christians ever NORMAL??

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday and it will be difficult for us not to sing! The spirited hymns we associate with Pentecost are meant to be sung out with gusto if not expertise! Thanks to our music team for arranging and presenting our music this Sunday.

I am sure that we all do not agree on the specifics of each and every decision which has been made. And that’s okay! Some of us are more cautious than others; some of us are more adventurous than others. Or as the popular song goes, “Some say toh-MAY-toh and some say toh-MAH-toh”! But we won’t call the whole thing off, as the song goes on to say!

It will be wonderful to see you this Sunday even as we have restrictions in place. Meanwhile, stay safe and healthy and remember to pray every day that we can see our way through these challenging times.

May God richly bless you!

Love, Michael
