September Blog

September will be an exciting and busy time in the life of our church! School will begin soon and it will be good to have folks back in worship as they return from much needed time away this summer.

The Pastor Search committee will begin their work, seeking the candidate that God has been preparing to come lead SCC into out next chapter of life and ministry. Please continue to pray for the search committee as they begin this important work.

We also have lots of events happening in and around worship this month. On September 4th we will welcome Pastor Michael in worship to baptize Blair Louise Chambers. On September 11th , we will have Sunday School promotion and the blessing of the backpacks. We will also welcome first responders to worship and treat them to lunch after. (Please see the related article in the newsletter on you can help with this important event.) On September 18th we will celebrate Doris Cones’ 100th birthday after worship, and On September 25th, we will have a luncheon after church to celebrate Mary Huber’s 35 years of service at Suffolk Christian Church. Please plan to join us for each of these special events.

On Wednesday September 7th, we are starting a new grief support group, open to all members and friends who have lost a loved one. You are welcome to join us at 3:30 p.m. on September 7th as we begin this journey together.

As we enter this busy season, I am so grateful to everyone who works so joyfully and tirelessly to help SCC be a beacon on Main Street. Thank you to each of you and all of you for your service to Christ and the church.

It’s an honor to be on the journey with you, Tracy
