SOCIAL DISTANCING

My Dear Friends,

Baby step by baby step we are following the guidelines for re-opening and are making progress, all the while keeping good safety practices in place. Our “Coronavirus Task Force” (Calvin Jones, chair; Tom Ashcraft; Priscilla Bunch; Robert Boyce; Dana Bilby; Jim Judkins; and Curtiss Johnson) has been diligent in carefully mapping out each step of the process. While our progress may seem slow and overly cautious, we believe it is in the best interests of all concerned.

We are abiding by social distancing guidelines in the church. We have many signs posted to remind worshipers of the distance required. While we believe that we are as safe as possible, we encourage each of you to come to your own level of comfort before physically returning to worship services. Of course you can view the videos online at any time.

Our church office has reopened on a limited basis. Office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 to 4 pm. We ask that you call ahead if you have business to transact. No other church activities have as yet resumed except that our Son Crusaders Sunday School class has been meeting outside on the church lawn (respecting all the guidelines, of course).

As always, your thoughts and comments are most welcome. Our congregational-based church government gives each of us equal access to a transparent decision-making process. We will not always agree in every aspect but at least our process will allow the consideration of various points of view.

Please remember that we have not ceased being the church! We collectively are the Body of Christ, the physical presence of our Lord here upon the earth. Continue to go about doing good, praying daily, being kind to each other, and spreading God’s love to all.

These challenging days are our wonderful opportunity to live out and demonstrate our faith! God bless you as you do so.

Love,

Michael
